    Awesome choices and what an eclectic range! This reminds me that I still need to see The Master. Will you do a post about best female acting performances?

    Thank you! It was hard for me to rank this list and it would be even harder for me to do an actress list because I think that women are actually in general better performers. But, a couple of my favorites are Kate Winslet in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Frances McDormand in Fargo, Liv Ullman/Bibi Andersson in Persona, Kathy Bates in Misery, Julianne Moore in Boogie Nights, or Maria Falconetti in The Passion of Joan of Arc (arguably the most influential on-screen performance of all time).
